Underneath the mistletoe

Christmas is a time when men and women all over the country look forward to their office Christmas party. It is an opportunity to have fun with colleagues in a relaxed environment away from the work place.

Unfortunately but somewhat predictably it can also be used as an opportunity for those seeking a bit of excitement in their lives from a colleague they have had their eye on. After a few glasses tongues loosen, compliments are paid, flirting begins, then dancing, then touching that can then lead to…

For most people this wouldn’t be on their agenda, for others a drunken kiss under the mistletoe is as far as it goes, but what if one night leads to another and another and another? Many affairs start at such gatherings, and what if you suspect your partner of cheating? You can’t live a life of doubt and suspicion as this can eat away at you.

If your partner is becoming distant it is better to find out sooner rather than later on your terms. Here are some things to look out for:

  • Credit card statements with restaurants that you’ve never been to

  • Phone bills with unexplained numbers

  • Work meetings that run over into the evening

  • Overnight stays with work

  • Texting more regularly and keeping mobile phone close at hand

  • He/she does not answer your calls so regularly

  • Lack of emotional involvement – no longer interested in kissing/cuddles/sex

  • Begins to reference or talk about a third party/work colleague

If you suspect your partner/spouse, but have no concrete evidence to support your suspicions, it may be time to contact a private investigator to assist you. It may well be that the regular Wednesday night ‘game of cards with the boys’ he has just started proves to be just that and your fears can be allayed. Alternatively if something altogether more salacious is taking place, a private investigator will be able to provide you with the necessary hard evidence.

At Specialist PI we have female and male operatives available to take your call any time of the day or night. It may be that you just want to discuss your concerns? If after the free phone consultation you feel that our help would be valuable to gather the evidence, usually through means of surveillance and photos, please call us on 0207 206 2450 or 0845 099 0122
